Sweet Corn
Sweet corn also known as maize. It is belived to be native to India and parts of America. It comes from the grass family and is usually found growing natrally in fields positioned in full sunlight. It has been growing for centuries and can be eatern on and off the cob and however it is the only vegetable that grows in the dark.
Sweet corn is served with salads in the summertime along side with tomatoes and cucumber and also can be served with a vegetable dish with broad beans and broccoli. You can buy sweet corn on a cob which it naturally grows and it can be steamed or boiled and tastes delicious served in melted butter which gives it that extra flavouring. You can also buy sweetcorn canned or frozen. |
