The Lily is not only a popular flower here in the Uk, but is also popular and cultivated all over the world.The plant is native to China which is commonly used there today. The plant is a part of the genus Lilium, which comes from the Liliaceae family along side with the Lily of the Valley. There are many different species of the Lily which come in many forms, shapes and colours. The lily flower tends to produce pollen stamens which tend to get everywhere these can stain carpets, clothes etc, so best to be careful, also lilies can be highly poisonous to cats, especially if the pollen gets on their fur.
