The Lilac otherwise known as Syringa genus, which come from the Oleaceae family (Olive Family). The colour lilac is named after the flowers that comes in mostly lilac and other shades of puples and pinks. The tall plants which produce large green leaves and beautiful clusters of heart shaped flowers, some species of lilac have a strong and pleasant fragrance.
The plant grows best in partial to full sunlight likes moist soil and can grow up to 45cm high and wide. They don't bloom for very long periods of time, so it may be best to plant different varieties that come out at different times to get see them for a longer period of time in your garden.
